A font to fight illiteracy - Klitschko Foundation
Together with Klitschko (the boxing heavyweight champion) we decided to rise awareness and funds to reduce children illiteracy. We did this by letting Vladimir Klitschko box every letter of the alphabet with ink onto canvas creating 26 unique pieces of art. We turned the unique artworks into a font anyone could download. The artworks were then auctioned out through Christies in an event called “AlphaBid. With Alpha-bid we raised over €136 000 for the cause.

The Alphabet
Klitschko boxed each of the letters on individual canvases, creating a full alphabet of unique pieces of art.
The Font
Each artwork was digitalized and then turned into a font by a typographer. Together with the type foundry Monotype the font was spread driving people to the cause.
